Thread starter ianCP Start date Feb 3, Linux Centos 6. I have not been able to make a server backup under Plesk Obsidian - Backup Manager The backup runs but just ends with a 'cross' icon which when hovered over says "This is not a valid backup. Data cannot be restored from this file. Click the backup name to see the details.
Expected is preferences. Line error: Element 'user': Missing child element s. Command line pleskbackup produces the same problem. I suspect the issue is in the 'server' section because the 'Full' backup has produced valid subscription backups and I still get the error message when I only select 'Domain Configuration' I have plenty of disk space. I have run successful backups in previous versions of plesk on this server. Any thoughts? Last edited: Feb 7, Peter Debik Plesk addicted!
Plesk Guru. Please contact official Plesk support on this. I would contact Plesk support but I have my system through a reseller. The reseller is asking for root access and my Admin panel credentials because they say that Plesk will need them and they cannot raise the ticket without. Yes, Plesk support requires root access to the machine. If you do not trust the reseller, you can sign up for a support contract with Plesk directly for approx.
There is a 30 days test period for that. My experience with Plesk support is that they will solve every problem, no matter how difficult it is, so I can only recommend this.
To create a ticket, simply start off from Plesk Help Center and select "Submit a request" from the upper right corner. Enter your license key first in the form. The system will then prompt you with a link where you can buy support. After you signed up for the support, return to the form, now your license will be accepted for support.
In these kind of situations I would expect a request for logs. Or to run package 'xzzz' and provide its feedback.
I don't expect a support issue to be treated as 'let us in, we'll have a tinker around and see what we can find I have the same problem! Backup version is I solve it removing this clients, but i think that filling the email information for thi clients, must solve the problem.
Hope it helps! I will have a good look and let you know - thank you in advance! Basically I had a domain and files for it and a client but there was no entry for the domain in the psa. When restoring from a backup file, you can restore all data contained in the backup , or select individual objects to be restored for example, a particular site, all databases, and so on.
Note: When you restore objects from a backup, they overwrite and replace existing objects with the same name. You will not be prompted when an object being restored is about to overwrite an existing one.
You will lose all changes to objects being restored that were made after the backup was created. Here you can see all backups stored both in the server storage and remote storages.
If you clear the checkbox, none will be restored. Plesk will attempt to fetch the password automatically. Plesk will restore the backup, but all passwords for restored objects such as database users or mail accounts will be generated randomly.
At this point, the backup is ready to be restored. There are a number of optional settings you can configure before restoring the backup:. The restoration process can take some time to finish, depending on the size of the content being restored. A notification will come up on this screen once the backup has been restored. You do not have to restore all configuration and content stored in a backup file. You can pick which objects to restore from the backup for example, a single domain and all associated objects, a single mail account, or even just a single individual file.
Restore individual websites with all associated objects and content mail accounts, databases, and so on. If you want to restore objects of different types for example, a single mail account and two databases , you would need to run the restoration twice, once for the databases, and once for the mail account. Select which objects to restore. Click the objects you want to restore. For example, when restoring a database, selecting the former option will restore the database and the associated database users, but not the tables or the data.
If the backup file only contains the configuration but not the content, this option is unavailable.
