Joined Jan 27, Messages Hello, I have a toshiba satellite laptop, my windows 7 operating system is stuck on the windows resume loader screen. The keyboard loses all function so that you cannot make a choice. I plugged in a usb keyboard enabled it and same result. I had actually made a windows 7 repair disc and was actually able to boot from dvd drive but nothing came up.

How can I get past this problem? I was told that it has something to do with hibernate mode, Thanks for any help. I dont know if you could call this one resolved. But in the end it appears that my hard drive is fried. I tried various fixes and then I contacted Mirosoft tech support directly. They also had me run my laptop through a battery of tests. We have come to the conclusion that the hard drive is the culprit.

The tab key and enter keys do not work. I am going to try to borrow a USB keyboard to plug in and see if that helps. I had taken out the battery for a few hours but that did not change anything. I read some people having this issue and they were able to get to the bios and change a setting to get the pc to recognize the keyboard but I am not sure how to do that when the keyboard does not seem to work Plugging in a keyboard allowed me to select the delete the registration data.

The key does not appear to be jammed and I took it off to test it. Nothing came up on a virus check. Looks like some key might be stuck on the keyboard. Are you getting any continuous beeping or tapping sound when you turn the computer on?

As I am entering finals week and I have many projects on this laptop, I am extremely leary of choosing an option that involves "deleting". What does deleting restoration data actually do? Are there any other options available? Your assistance is greatly appreciated. It sounds as if the laptop was in Hibernation rather than shut down before this happened. Deleting the restoration data refers to things you may have had open and was saved to memory before hibernating.

Deleting it and trying to resume boot 'shouldn't' have any effect on your data, programs, etc. Didn't find what you were looking for? Ask the community. Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type.
